About Sabong
Sabong, or cockfighting, is one of the oldest and most beloved traditions in the Philippines. Long before basketball and boxing, Filipinos were already gathering at local arenas called sabungan to cheer for their favorite rooster. It is deeply woven into Filipino culture — you will find it mentioned in history books, talked about at family reunions, and celebrated at fiestas across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
At 198jl, we respect that tradition while bringing it to the modern age. You no longer have to travel to a physical arena and stand in the heat just to place a bet. With our online Sabong platform, you get the same excitement — roosters matched by weight and blade, handlers preparing their birds in the pit — all streamed live to your device.
Whether you grew up watching your lolo and tatay bet at the local sabungan, or you are brand new to cockfighting, 198jl makes it easy to join in. The interface is clean, bets are placed in seconds, and every fight result is posted instantly. No delays, no drama — pure Sabong action every day.

Before you place your first bet at 198jl, it helps to understand the core betting options in Sabong. Unlike sports like basketball where you have spreads and parlays to worry about, Sabong keeps things refreshingly simple — and that is part of why it has stayed popular for generations.
| Bet Type | Description | Payout |
|---|---|---|
| Meron | Bet on the favorite rooster (usually the higher-priced bird) | Lower odds, more consistent |
| Wala | Bet on the underdog rooster | Higher odds, bigger payout |
| Draw (Empate) | Both roosters die or are unable to continue | Rare but pays very well |
| Lasak | Bet combinations on multiple fights in sequence | Multiplied returns |
Pro tip: At 198jl, odds are updated in real time as bets come in. Keep an eye on movements — a last-minute shift in Meron/Wala odds can tell you a lot about what insiders are expecting.

Whether you are a seasoned bettor or placing your very first bet at 198jl, a few practical habits can make a real difference in your results. These are not magic tricks — just common-sense approaches that experienced Sabong fans have relied on for years.
Experienced Sabong bettors always check the rooster's breeding. Known bloodlines like Kelso, Sweater, and Hatch have different fighting styles. Weight matching also tells you a lot — a heavier bird does not always win, but stamina and speed tend to favour the lighter, well-conditioned fighter.
Never bet more than you can afford to lose in a single session. A simple rule many 198jl regulars follow is capping each individual bet at 5–10% of their session budget. This way, even a losing streak will not wipe you out completely.
The 198jl stream always shows the handlers presenting their birds before the official start. A confident, alert rooster that moves well and holds its head high is usually in better condition than one that looks sluggish or nervous.
It is tempting to double your stake after a loss to recover quickly, but that strategy rarely works out. Take a short break, review what went wrong, and come back fresh. 198jl has fights running all day — there is no rush.
All the payment methods Filipinos actually use, supported at 198jl.
Withdrawals are processed within minutes for e-wallets and within one banking day for bank transfers. Minimum withdrawal at 198jl is ₱200 — no hidden charges, no unnecessary delays.
If you grew up in the Philippines, chances are you have a Sabong memory tied to a fiesta, a barrio fair, or a lazy Sunday afternoon. The smell of the arena, the noise of the crowd calling out their bets, the tension right before the birds are released — there is nothing quite like it. Sabong is not just gambling; for many Filipinos it is about community, pride, and the thrill of competition.
At 198jl, we understand that heritage. That is why we have put serious effort into making the online Sabong experience feel authentic. The live stream includes real commentary, the results are genuine and verified, and the atmosphere — as much as possible through a screen — captures the energy of an actual sabungan.
We also acknowledge that Sabong comes with responsibility. 198jl promotes responsible gaming at all times. Set your limits, stick to your budget, and treat every session as entertainment first. If you ever feel that your gaming habits are becoming a concern, please visit our Responsible Gaming page for resources and support.
The online version at 198jl also gives smaller bettors access to fights and odds that were previously only available to those physically present at big sabungan venues in Manila, Cebu, or Davao. Now, whether you are in a province in Ilocos or a condo in Makati, you get the same access, the same odds, and the same shot at winning.
